What does it mean that our animals are Grain-fed?

The cattle could be classified as Grain-fed or Grass-fed depending on their diet.

The European and Spanish cattle is classified as Grain-fed, that means that the animals are fed on a grain-based diet for over 150 days, obtaining a tender and juicy meat, with a brighter colour, whiter fat and more marbling than the grass-fed.

If you want to know a bit better the main features of the beef obtained from grain-fed animals, do not miss the animated spot on this issue that Provacuno has launched in the framework of the “What wonderful European Beef 2.0” campaign.
