On April 23, PROVACUNO, the Agro-food Interprofessional Organization of the Spanish beef industry, under the framework of the European Union’s project for the promotion of European beef called “It’s Time for EU Beef,” travelled to Cebu in the Philippines to host an event with the objective of promoting European beef. The event, organized at the colonial Casino Espanol located in the city of Cebu, gathered more than 60 Filipino meat importers and distributors who could taste delicious dishes cooked with European beef from Spain.
The event which started at 6:00 PM was opened by Mr. Jose Ramon Godoy, Coordinator of Internationalization at Provacuno. Mr. Godoy informed the guest about the latest news regarding European beef exports in the Philippines highlighting the great quality and unique characteristics of the European beef. Mr. Godoy explained how the European beef is produced from young cattle fed with high-quality cereals and oilseeds and encouraged Filipino businessman to work with European beef exporters and import this beef into The Philippines.
After his speech, Mr. Godoy introduced a Spanish Michelin-starred chef, Mr. Kisko Garcia who gave a showcooking explaining how he cooked 3 recipes made with European beef. Following the showcooking, guests could taste the dishes prepared by the chef and get more information from Provacuno’s representatives about the European beef market and the high standards the European beef follows in order to offer premium quality food.
Thanks to the promotional campaign “It’s time for EU Beef” co-financed by the European Union and Provacuno, European beef is promoted in key markets such as The Philippines. Following the successful first event of the “It’s Time for EU Beef”s campaign in the Philippines held in November 2024, Provacuno can say once again that the event organized in April 2025 was another success.
