European Beef Festival for Key Players in Japan’s Meat Industry

José Ramón Godoy, International Director of Provacuno.

PROVACUNO hosted a networking event at Instituto Cervantes Tokyo, bringing together local meat processors, meat product manufacturers, and Japanese food industry professionals. The event provided an excellent opportunity for key players in Japan’s meat industry to learn about the safety and high quality of European beef, as well as to understand the European Production Model (EPM), which emphasizes animal welfare and environmental sustainability without the use of antibiotics or growth promoters.

During the festival, Michelin-starred chefs Miguel Carretero and Javier Estévez conducted cooking demonstrations and tasting sessions featuring European beeffrom Spain. Their presentations aimed to give participants firsthand experience of the premium quality of European beef available in the Japanese market.

Miguel Carretero prepared “Wellington-style sirloin / Shin with curry / Roasted chuck roll,” while Javier Estévez showcased “Steak tartare / Marinated tongue / Beef cheek tacos,” emphasizing the tenderness and juiciness of European products.
